‘EXTREMELY ALARMING’

Six West Point Cadets on Spring Break Overdose on Fentanyl-Laced Cocaine

Officials said only four of the cadets took the cocaine; the fentanyl was so potent that the other two were poisoned simply from giving CPR.

Emergency responders were called out to a horrifying scene in Wilton Manors, Florida, on Thursday afternoon after six West Point cadets on Spring Break overdosed on cocaine laced with fentanyl, according to officials. Local10 reports that Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue found six people on the front lawn of the short-term holiday in cardiac arrest. Chief Stephen Gollan said Narcan was deployed as quickly as possible, and the six were rushed to hospital, where one had to be intubated and remains in critical condition. Gollan said only four of the cadets took the cocaine; the fentanyl was so potent that the other two cadets were poisoned simply from administering CPR to their friends. “This is extremely alarming to us,” Gollan said. A West Point spokesperson confirmed the matter was under investigation.
