Trump’s Nepo Sister Pick Stays Mum on Red Flag Topic

Darline Graham ignored an important question during a Monday press conference.

Lindsey Graham’s sister refused to clarify her stance on the results of the 2020 presidential election despite her own brother’s acceptance of Donald Trump’s loss.

Darline Graham, who filled her late brother’s Senate seat at the request of the president following his death last month, was asked about her thoughts on the 2020 election during a press conference on Monday, MS NOW reported.

“Senator, you just mentioned that you agree with your brother on everything except for one matter, that being illegal immigration; you’d go farther than him on that,” MS NOW congressional reporter Mychael Schnell told Graham. “That being said, I’m curious, do you agree with him about the 2020 election, that Joe Biden was certified the winner of that election, was lawfully elected, and that you would’ve voted to certify the election as your brother did?”

Graham declined to answer, replying instead with “I think our election system is broken.” She ignored a follow-up question asking for clarification, the outlet said.

Her late brother was clear about his stance, telling reporters in 2021 that he accepted the election results and that Joe Biden had won.

“2020 is over to me, I’m ready to march on and hopefully take back the House and Senate in 2022,” he said at the time, according to The Hill.

In another interaction with reporters at a weekend campaign event, the inexperienced politician was thrown off by the idea of being recorded in public as a government official.

“Is your phone recording this?” Graham asked a voter, according to a video shared on X on Saturday.

The voter replied, “Yes, because, I mean, this is a political event. There’s always phones recording. So, you’re a politician, you know the drill.”

“It kinda does bother me that you’re recording me—I’m gonna be honest—without my permission,” Graham said, despite South Carolina being a one-party-consent state.

The 62-year-old is trying hard to keep her temporary seat ahead of the South Carolina Republican primary on Tuesday.

Trump, 80, announced he would host a last-minute tele-rally for his pinch-hitting nepo pick on Monday night, hours before voters head to the polls to choose between her and the more experienced GOP Rep. Ralph Norman.

However, her inexperience has made itself apparent throughout her brief campaign—even drawing backlash from her own party.

Asked about her thoughts on the national security implications of Taiwan and the South China Sea during a debate last week, Graham said she was “not that informed on national security,” prompting boos from the crowd.

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly said the senator’s comment was “disqualifying.”

“I’m mortified by that answer,” Kelly said on her podcast last week. “Has no one looked into whether she knows anything about politics, world events, international events? This actually is an important thing to understand as a U.S. Senator.”
