Trump Lays Into DeSantis’ ‘Disaster’ of a 2024 Announcement
The former president couldn't help but comment on the technical issues plaguing Twitter just as DeSantis was set to speak.

Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday night in a blaze of fury against his latest competitor in the 2024 presidential race, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The former president began a long thread of criticism against his former ally on Wednesday afternoon, just ahead of DeSantis’ announcement that he will run for the 2024 presidency.
Trump posted screen-grabs of polls showing Trump with a clear lead for the Republican presidential nomination—before welcoming “Rob” to the race with a cheeky post about how he’ll soon face a barrage of criticism and scrutiny.
“Hopefully he will get the full experience of being attacked by the Marxists, Communists, and Radical Left Lunatics of our Country, without which he will never know the kind of job he is doing,” the 76-year-old wrote.
It was ultimately the moment when DeSantis appeared alongside Elon Musk and suffered a host of technical glitches during the Twitter Spaces chat that Trump seemed to enjoy the most.

“‘Rob,’ My Red Button is bigger, better, stronger, and is working (TRUTH!), yours does not! (per my conversation with Kim Jung Un, of North Korea, soon to become my friend!),” Trump said.
“Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!” he continued.
He also posted a number of videos criticizing DeSantis; one comparing Trump’s presidential campaign launch to that of DeSantis’ Twitter Space, highlighting the technical glitches suffered by the social media site—which caused a more than 20-minute delay to the talk. Another showed a rocket failing at launch and crashing to the ground, which Trump had labelled “Ron!24.”
“Instead of being grateful, DeSantis is now attacking the very man who saved his career,” says another video. “Isn’t it time DeSantis remembers how he got to where he is?”
The former president also referred to the presidential campaign launch this week of Republican U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), saying that “even with the broken microphone (don’t pay the contractor, Tim!), was by far the best Presidential launch of the week. Robs was a catastrophe!”
He added: “Was the DeSantis launch FATAL? Yes!”
Then, late Wednesday night, he posted a satirical video of the DeSantis Twitter space, where DeSantos is seen in the Space full of supporters including Musk, George Soros, Dick Cheney, Hitler, the Devil, the FBI, and Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum. In the clearly fake video, they can be heard awkwardly arguing as Musk tries to steer the chat in the right direction. Trump then enters the call, and says: “Hold you horses, Elon. The real president is going to say a few words. The Devil, I’m going to kick your ass very soon. Hitler, you’re already dead. Dick Cheney sounds like he’ll be joining Hitler very soon. Klaus Schwab and George Soros, I’m putting both your asses in jail.”
He concludes: “And Ron DeSanctimonious can kiss my big, beautiful 2024 presidential ass. Trump 2024, baby! Let’s go,” he concludes.
