Trump Hints at Government Conspiracy Behind Mystery Drones

“For some reason, they want to keep people in suspense,” he said.

President-elect Donald Trump has claimed without evidence that the government knows where the mysterious N.J. drones are from—but won’t tell the public.

“For some reason, they want to keep people in suspense,” Trump said at a press conference in Palm Beach, Florida on Monday.

“I can’t imagine it’s the enemy because if it was the enemy they’d blast it out,” he continued.

Trump also said that he canceled a trip to Bedminster, New Jersey, where his golf club is located, out of caution for the drones, though officials have insisted there’s no reason to believe the sightings pose a safety risk.

The president-elect also claimed that the military and President Joe Biden know where drones are coming from, and where they’re going.

“Something strange is going on. For some reason, they don’t want to tell the people, and they should,” Trump said, again without providing evidence.

Many lawmakers have spoke out demanding answers for the drone sightings, which have worried residents in the state.

On Sunday, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer pushed the federal government to deploy a “special drone-detecting” system in both New Jersey and New York, where a large chunk of the sightings have been reported.

“It’s remarkable with all these sightings over the last while: Why do we have more questions than answers?” Schumer said.

The FBI and Homeland Security released a statement on Thursday claiming that they had no evidence at the time that the drones are a national security threat.

“While there is no known malicious activity occurring in New Jersey, the reported sightings there do, however, highlight the insufficiency of current authorities.”
