Puppy-Killer Kristi Noem Resigns as Governor Amid DHS Confirmation

Noem sent a message to President Trump on X as she resigned as governor of South Dakota.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was officially confirmed as the new secretary of homeland security under President Donald Trump’s administration. Her confirmation occurred in a Saturday Senate vote with 59 to 34 vote in her favor, the New York Post reported. Noem, who admitted to killing her puppy because it nipped at her, is now tasked with keeping tabs on the country’s border security as well as immigration policies, among other duties. Following her confirmation, Noem resigned as South Dakota governor and took to X to thank Trump for her new gig. “Thank you, Mr. President @realDonaldTrump, for the confidence in me to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security. I will work to make America SAFE again!” she wrote. While Noem celebrated, top Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff shared why he voted against Noem’s confirmation in a scathing twet. “I just voted against Kristi Noem’s confirmation. Our immigration system is in desperate need of reform — but it won’t be fixed by organized acts of cruelty. We need a DHS Secretary who puts the rule of law and constitution first — not the caprice of the President,” he shared on X.
