Trump Golf Club’s Health Score Sinks Amid 18 Food Violations

The $350K-member club was infamously the backdrop of former “first buddy” Elon Musk’s “ketamine” dinner.

President Donald Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, was hit with a whopping 18 health violations and the lowest grade in the county after an inspection last month.

An online report from a May 6 health inspection visit reveals that the club—one of three clubs the Republican president owns in the state—received a 32 out of 100 from the Somerset County Department of Health. Half of the club’s violations were warned to be critical, with the possibility of resulting in “an unacceptable health risk.”

The score was the lowest issued among the county’s reported 115 retail food establishments.

Forbes reported that an inspector noted in the report that the person in charge of the club’s food and beverage service “fails to demonstrate knowledge of food safety.” Adding to that, the inspector added that the sheer number of violations that the club was issued was a violation in and of itself.

In another note, the inspector added that a “household microwave” was spotted in the main kitchen. “Must be removed. Only commercial grade equipment allowed in Retail food establishment,” the inspector wrote, reported Forbes.

When it came to hand-washing, the club was cited on four points, including sinks without soap or paper towels, one missing a required hand-washing sign and another sink being used to store a sanitizer bucket.

The Bedminster golf club is under the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, which has served as a legal work around that allows the president to earn income from the businesses while being president. The watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics reported that he spent more than 100 days at the property during his first term.

A dinner Trump held at the club in March made headlines when former “First Buddy” Elon Musk was spotted playing with spoons at the table alongside his babies’ mama Shivon Zilis and Trump.

Since then, social media commentators have used the clip to back up reports that Musk frequently abused drugs during his White House tenure as the face of his so-called Department of Government Efficient.

The Daily Beast has contacted the club for comment.
