Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Suspect Robert Bowers Ranted About Jews to Police

A criminal complaint says he told a SWAT officer that Jews ”were committing genocide to his people.”

Pittsburgh synagogue shooting suspect Robert Bowers, who spouted anti-Semitic views on social media, ranted about Jews after he was taken into custody on Saturday, according to a police affidavit. Bowers, 56, was wounded and arrested after allegedly killing 11 people at the Tree of Life congregation in Squirrel Hill. "While in custody and receiving medical treatment, Bowers made statements to SWAT Operator David Blahut that he wanted all Jews to die and also that they (Jews) were committing genocide to his people,'" read an affidavit filed with a criminal complaint in state court, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In addition to state charges, Bowers also faces federal counts for the murderous rampage.
