Bondi’s Humiliating Last-Ditch Bid to Keep Her Job Exposed

The ousted attorney general made several face-saving moves, but ultimately, the president’s mind was made up.

Fired former Attorney General Pam Bondi made a desperate ploy to keep her job even after President Donald Trump informed her that her axing was coming soon, a new report alleges.

Trump broke the bad news to Bondi as they rode together to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, saying, “I think it’s time,” sources tell CNN. The 60-year-old asked to keep her job through the summer, but to no avail.

Bondi did not let on what she had reportedly just learned. Instead, she entered the Supreme Court at her boss’s side, smiling as they exited “The Beast.”

However, with her words not enough, CNN reports that Bondi then made a last-ditch effort to save her job—meeting with a federal prosecutor in Florida and inquiring about when charges can be brought against one of Trump’s political enemies, former CIA Director John Brennan.

CNN reports that Bondi met with U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones, who cautioned that his prosecutors felt the Brennan case was not ready to be brought to a grand jury.

By the time Trump announced that Bondi was out on Thursday, she had already fled Washington and returned to her native Tampa, Florida.

Bondi later became “emotional” as she spoke to friends and colleagues about her exit, according to The New York Times.

CNN reported that despite Bondi’s pleas to remain in the position, the job took a toll on her as she was asked to target Trump’s enemies. This reportedly includes the prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff.

Bondi tried to save face online and make it appear as though the decision was mutual, posting on X that she would soon be “moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about.”

Trump did not bother to give Bondi the sort of made-up government position he gave to former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who is now “Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” when she was fired last month.

There were hints of Trump’s displeasure with Bondi’s lack of progress in prosecuting his foes. In September, he took his frustrations public, posting on Truth Social what appeared to be a private message he meant for Bondi.

“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done,’” he posted.

“JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!” he added.

CNN reports that the lack of prosecutions of Trump foes landed Bondi in the hot seat. Trump was also reportedly furious at U.S. Attorneys for not delivering the prosecutions he wanted.

Bondi has also been harshly criticized for her handling of the Epstein files, but there has been no indication that Trump, whose name is littered throughout the files, was displeased with her on that issue. However, CNN reports that the White House sidelined her from talking about the matter on Fox News as outrage over the files peaked last summer.

Making matters worse for Bondi, she incorrectly said in her first month on the job that a Jeffrey Epstein client list was in her possession and suggested that it would be released soon.

“It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” she told Fox News of Epstein’s client list in February 2025.

“That’s been a directive by President Trump,” she added.

Despite her assertion, her comments were news to the White House, CNN reported. The White House later told her that she could not appear on Fox News interviews after her “primetime flub.”

The FBI and DOJ later released a joint memo stating that Epstein did not possess a “client list” and that he died by suicide, which enraged Trump’s MAGA base.
