‘South Park’ Reveals Official Name Change to Humiliate Trump
The change comes 29 years after the series’ premiere.

South Park is heeding Donald Trump’s executive order, according to a new announcement from Comedy Central.
The show will now officially be called South America, according to a press release announcing its Season 29 premiere date as next Wednesday, Sept. 16.
“Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA,” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone said in a statement. “We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount—a Skydance Capitulation.”
The change comes after Trump signed the order to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America last month—and follows South Park’s brutal take on the president, his administration, and his billionaire buddies in Season 28.

The series just won its fifth Emmy award.

It also follows the series’ fifth Emmy win on Sunday for Outstanding Animated Program, which show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone used as yet another way to humiliate Trump—announcing the win with a graphic showing Trump, pants down, holding the Emmy award.

The show began centering the president in Season 27, portraying Trump in its premiere, Sermon on the Mount. The creators debuted a more aggressive portrayal than its Mr. Garrison version, using the same photo-based style as its Saddam Hussein character. The premiere also introduced Satan as Trump’s new lover.

The outlandish parody of the president and his administration only grew in intensity through Seasons 27 and 28, which depicted him having sex with Vice President JD Vance.

Trump has been uncharacteristically soft on the show—though insiders say he is much more bothered by its satire than he appears to be. Parker and Stone’s war on Trump nearly interfered with Trump-friendly company Skydance’s acquisition of Comedy Central parent network Paramount last year when the show creators threatened legal action against then-incoming executives, accusing them of meddling in their contract negotiations.

Stone and Parker told fans mid-dispute through social media, “This merger is a s--tshow and it’s f---ing up South Park.”
The creators ultimately won out, securing a $1.5 billion global streaming and distribution deal from the MAGA-associated company to keep South Park under the Paramount umbrella through 2030. The new “name change” reveals that the show will continue to hit Trump where it hurts most, from within his buddy David Ellison’s ever-growing Trumpian media empire.
