Jack Quaid Got Beat Up at a Basketball Game

Promo tours are getting brutal.

Jack Quaid got pummeled at a basketball game for his new film, Novocaine.

Novocaine—a film about an introverted man whose inability to feel pain comes in handy when he goes on a mission to rescue the girl of his dreams after a kidnapping—will be released Mar. 14. To promote the film for its upcoming release, the marketing team beat up Quaid at the Kings versus Clippers game last night, employing a promotional strategy of the likes that Hollywood has not seen before.

In a video posted on X, the game cam zooms in on Quaid sitting courtside next to his Novocaine co-star Amber Midthunder, sporting a black eye, a bloody nose, and an arm sling. Despite the apparent injuries, the star looks cheery as ever, lifting his arms up in celebration and smiling to the camera.

As the game continues, the camera cuts back to Quaid repeatedly, and hilariously, each time it does, the actor looks more battered than before.

“Is it just me… or is Jack Quaid getting worse as this game goes on,” the caption reads.

When the camera pans to Quaid the second time, the arm sling is nowhere in sight, replaced by an entire arm cast, neck brace, and some new cuts next to the actor’s brows.

“Where did he get the brace!?” the video questions.

Even after all these injuries, the marketing team didn’t relent, beating up Quaid even more.

No pain, no gain, right?

This time, the actor doesn’t just have one arm cast, but two, along with a new head injury wrapped in a bloody bandage and a torn-up lip.

Now worried about Quaid’s health, the caption in the video suggests that someone should get him some medical help.

“Someone get Novocaine over here to the hospital,” it reads.

Fans of the actor commented under the video, appreciating the market tactic for what it was—a stroke of genius.

“Now that’s commitment to the role! 🎬😂 Hope he made it out in one piece! 🏀🥊" one X user wrote.

“Actual W marketing,” another user wrote, congratulating the Novocaine team on their fine work.

As for Quaid, reports say he made it out with his limbs intact, for the most part.
