Melania Trump is putting herself back into the fashion ring just days after her shocking inauguration outfit hat became one of the most memorable moments of the day.
The first lady stepped out in all-black skinny jeans with the president, the outfit delighting conservatives.
“Gen Z: We canceled skinny jeans,” Ginger Gaetz, the wife of Matt Gaetz wrote to X. “Melania: Checkmate.”
She finished her post with a crown emoji.
Many showed their support of the style choice in the comments, despite current fashion trends leaning in the direction of a baggier jean fit.

“They canceled skinny jeans because the left look ridiculous in them,” another posted. “And still do.”
Some cheered while others grimaced at the first lady’s outfit choice for her husband’s swearing-in on Monday: A giant, wide-brim black hat with a white ribbon, alongside a coat buttoned to the top. And yes, she kept both on during the ceremony inside the Capitol Rotunda.
After some said she bared a striking resemblance to the Hamburglar, Michael Jackson, and the Pizza Hut logo, others speculated that the fashion choice was deliberate so her husband was unable to kiss her. One thing is for certain, however—many will remember the shocking outfit.
“She’s an inspiration,” an X user posted. “Fashion is back.”
