MAGA nation is having a full-blown meltdown over the lack of applause from Democrats during President Donald Trump’s first joint address to Congress since his return to office.
The White House wasted no time lashing out at Democrats over the muted response Trump received throughout his 99-minute speech on Tuesday night. In a press release after the speech, the administration outlined a lengthy list of moments where Democrats “refused to applaud,” praising Trump’s remarks as “bold” and “forward-looking.”
“Democrats Showed Whose Side They’re On — And it’s Not the American People,” the White House declared, slamming Democrats’ silence at key moments during Trump’s address, in which he covered economic policies, national security, and social issues.
Citing former White House press secretary and Fox News host Dana Perino, the release said: “The Democratic Party still has no common sense. They have no ideas and they have no heart. They couldn’t even stand for the most inspiring moments of the speech.”
The White House’s list accused Democrats of refusing to applaud Trump’s remarks on issues including “the capturing of an ISIS terrorist”, “recognizing only two sexes”, “Americans joining the military in record numbers”, “securing our border”, “pursuing peace in Ukraine”, and “defeating inflation.”

The administration included Trump’s move to honor 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel from Houston by officially making him an honorary Secret Service agent during his speech to Congress.
Donald Trump Jr. also blasted Democrats for their silence.
“If you can’t stand up and cheer for a kid with brain cancer being made an honorary member of the Secret Service, then you might be a deeply disturbed and f---ed up person!!!” he tweeted.
“If you didn’t stand up and applaud this young cancer survivor and his amazing father, there’s something really sick and messed up about you,” conservative political activist Charlie Kirk posted, eerily echoing Trump Jr’s words.

Chiming in on the matter, Trump’s billionaire pal Elon Musk accused Democrats of only cheering for foreign interests.
Musk said on X that “the only flag being waved and the ONLY cheer by Democrats was for another country,” referring to the president telling his audience that the U.S. has sent “hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense with no security, no anything.”
Trump this week halted military aid to Ukraine amid a very public feud with President Volodymyr Zelensky over a potential peace agreement with Russia.
The SpaceX and Tesla boss added: “They hate America.”
Doubling down on the condemnation, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Democrats “reminded us they are the party of insanity and hate.”
“They could not even clap for a child battling cancer, or mothers who lost their children,” she said on X.
“Tonight, President Trump absolutely owned the moment. He showed the world why the American people overwhelmingly re-elected him to serve in the highest office in the land… President Trump is restoring common sense. The renewal of the American Dream is well underway, and we are just getting started!” Leavitt added.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller asked in a heated X rant: “Has there ever been a more disgraceful and pitiful and malicious display in politics than Congressional Democrats refusing to stand for heartbroken families and courageous heroes?”
According to Axios, some Democrats had plotted to disrupt Trump’s speech to Congress “to express our outrage.”
Aside from refusing to applaud Trump during his address to Congress, some lawmakers went the silent protest route, holding up signs criticizing the president’s policies. Some read: “SAVE MEDICAID,” “MUSK STEALS” and “PROTECT VETERANS”.
Other female Democrats showed up in pink as “a color of power and protest,” said New Mexico Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, the chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, in a press conference prior to the speech.
The outfits were meant to draw attention to the way the Trump administration is “negatively impacting women and families,” she explained.
