Jon Stewart Wants Dems to ‘Stop F***ing Trotting’ Out Schumer

Jon Stewart is pleading with Democrats to rethink who they’re putting forward to take on President Donald Trump.
The Daily Show host called out the party for choosing 74-year-old Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to speak out against Trump’s plans to levy tariffs against Canada and Mexico.
“He’s uninteresting, but at least he’s monotone,” Stewart quipped on the Monday episode. “Oh wait, and Chuck, before you go out there, you look too young! Put on these readers and lower them on your nose. Perfect!‘”
The host played a clip of Schumer warning the public about the planned 25% tariffs on the neighboring nations: “It’s going to affect beer, okay? Most of it, Corona here, comes from Mexico. It’s going to affect your guac, because what is guacamole made of? Avocados.”
Seemingly gobsmacked at the minority leader’s explanation, Stewart said, “Your response to the trade war is to fucking tell us guacamole is made of avocados?” Adding: “Democrats, can you please stop f---ing trotting Schumer out there every time Trump traverses into the unreal? He’s not good at this.”
The host could barely withhold his disbelief that Schumer was chosen to face “the most savvy presidential media manipulators in history,” asking, “What is the decision-making process here?”

“Honestly, listening to Chuck Schumer speak on almost any topic makes me want to bomb Canada,” Stewart concluded.
