Saturday Night Live’s anniversary celebration got off to a rousing start with Friday’s Homecoming Concert, with celebrities making appearances both on- and offstage. During the Backstreet Boys' performance of their 1999 classic “I Want It That Way,” BSB member Brian Littrell headed into the audience in search of a celebrity to join in on their performance, and found an unlikely candidate: Jerry Seinfeld.

While former SNL hosts, like Paul Rudd, and cast members, like Maya Rudolph, could be seen singing their hearts out, Littrell opted to pass the mic to Seinfeld, who was smiling and clapping along as he tried to keep up with the beat, singing, “... ain’t nothing but a mistake,” before Littrell headed back to the stage.
The concert, designed to celebrate 50 years of SNL and broadcast on Peacock, boasted an incredible lineup, including the Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl, Post Malone, Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, and many more.
Many former SNL cast members and hosts have returned to the studio for the festivities, although fan favorite Bill Hader is not one of them; according to his publicist, a “longstanding schedule conflict” has kept him away from 30 Rock this weekend.
Fans can expect to see beloved SNL alumni like Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Martin Short and Andy Samberg in the 50th anniversary special, alongside stars like John Mulaney, a former SNL writer, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson, all of whom are members of the exclusive “Five-Timers Club,“ which means they’ve hosted SNL five times or more.
