FBI Finds No Evidence That Tesla Attacks Were Coordinated, Despite Trump and Musk’s Assertions

Law enforcement officials and domestic extremism experts have come up empty on finding any evidence that a recent series of attacks on Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations have been orchestrated, as Donald Trump and Elon Musk have both suggested. Earlier this week, the president and his “First Buddy” both claimed that the vandalism that has plagued at least 10 Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and facilities was an organized effort. DOGEQUEST, a website of unknown origins, did seem to encourage people to target Tesla vehicles by publishing a map tracking dozens of Tesla owners and charging stations. However, NBC News reports that neither the FBI nor the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found any evidence that the attacks were coordinated. Musk’s car company and its vehicles have come under attack ever since the DOGE boss’s cost-cutting ways have made him a prominent villain in Trump’s second term. On Thursday, Musk took to X to claim the attacks were “coordinated,” although he did not provide any proof. Later, during a live presentation to Tesla, he said, “I can’t walk past the TV without seeing a Tesla on fire.” Trump seemed to second Musk’s claims in a Wednesday interview on Fox News, where he too asserted, without evidence, that “people that are very highly political on the left” are financing the vandals.
