Dems Completely Dropped the Ball During Trump’s Speech

Democrats missed their chance to steal the spotlight during President Donald Trump’s big speech Tuesday night, according to the hosts of The New Abnormal.

Democrats had a chance to make a strong statement against President Donald Trump as he addressed a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, but the party leadership’s refusal to establish a cohesive game plan resulted in a disjointed and forgettable response.

The New Abnormal’s Danielle Moodie and Andy Levy flamed House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for reportedly ordering Democrats to stand down during Trump’s speech instead of staging a protest.

“I don’t understand what he believes Democrats operating in a space of decorum is gonna show the American people and the world,” Moodie said. “The only person that I’m praising is Rep. Al Green, who actually showcased some passion, some anger, some rage, channeling what I think a lot of Americans feel right now.”

Levy added that Democrats “had a chance here to be the only thing that was remembered” about Trump’s speech.

“They could have done something else that would have been memorable,” he said. “They chose not to, and Hakeem Jeffries told them not to, and I assume Chuck Schumer told the senators not to, and that’s why I say they failed because they had a chance to be memorable and they didn’t take it.
