Dem Rep Offers Clapback Apology to GOP After Identifying ‘Job-Stealing’ Immigrant

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett flipped the script on Republicans, claiming Elon Musk exemplifies their inflammatory talking points.

Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett posted a sardonic sorry-not-sorry to her Republican colleagues—and MAGA fans more broadly— following previous comments that took issue with far-right rhetoric about immigrants taking Americans’ jobs.

President Donald Trump, along with his Republican allies, have long blamed immigrants for a plethora of issues in the United States; Trump has gone as far as to falsely assert that “substantially more” than 100 percent of new jobs are going to them in place of U.S. citizens.

And, as it turned out, Crockett claimed to have unearthed an individual responsible for taking over a large number of American jobs.

“There’s an immigrant taking people’s jobs…” the congresswoman admitted in her Sunday post on X. “His name is Elon Musk.”

Musk, the world’s richest man, CEO of U.S.-based companies Tesla and SpaceX, owner of the social media platform X, and head of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is a native of South Africa.

After coming to the U.S. on a student visa, Musk may have even worked illegally himself. Reporting in The Washington Post last year quoted Musk in an email confirming he “had no legal right to stay in the country” while he worked to build his first business.

He has increasingly become the center of a firestorm of critiques in the media and from across the political spectrum as his unprecedented power as a “special government employee” goes seemingly unchecked.

“He’s snatching farms, government jobs (even those in which they manage our national security), and definitely those whose jobs are to root out fraud (inspector generals), & those that are keeping us safe (FAA)” Crockett wrote. “And the list goes on.”

She added: “So I’ll be the bigger person and admit to MAGA that I was wrong when I said immigrants wouldn’t take our jobs. You were 1000 percent correct.”

Musk’s DOGE has already been responsible for culling nearly 10,000 federal jobs in addition to offering buyouts to about 75,000 federal workers, Reuters reported.
