Dame’s new vibrator campaign wants to stoke sex positive conversations around female bodies.

The newest addition to New York City’s skyline? Soon, it will be a 10-foot-tall vibrator, courtesy of Dame. It’s all part of a multi-faceted campaign from the women-owned sexual wellness brand, which recently announced that it will be splashing a larger-than-life size likeness of its signature wand vibrator onto trucks in NYC and other major US cities.
The hope is to remind folks that even amidst increased threats of censorship and political turmoil, conversations around sex positivity, women’s health care, and inclusivity won’t be going anywhere. As Dame co-founder Alexandra Fine told Scouted, “We’re not here to argue—we’re here to show that pleasure is good. Talking about pleasure is good. And when we do, we create a world that’s not just happier but healthier.” Thus, the decision to roll out a series of vibrator-covered trucks with a powerful message: She’s coming.
Visible from the back of the truck is the equally excellent slogan Honk if you want her to Com—a choice pun on the name of the featured wand vibrator, Com.
As Fine explains, “Since platforms like Meta want to silence the conversation around sexual wellness, we’re taking it straight to the people—because women’s pleasure is not up for debate (or deletion).” The trucks will be rolling through major cities such as Dallas, New York, and Miami through July 2025, and folks are encouraged to snap a photo and tag Dame on Instagram to receive a free Com vibrator.
Dame’s business ethos has always centered on the power of not just pleasure, but gender equity as achieved through sex positivity. When the company was founded by sexologist Alexandra Fine and engineer Janet Lieberman in 2014, Dame was vocal about increasing the standards of value engineering for sex toys, which have historically received next to no regulation in the United States; body-unsafe PVC jelly and other potentially cancerous materials are still common in sex toys. Dame, by contrast, has always used materials such as medical-grade, body-safe silicone in its postmodern designs.

Let’s talk about those designs for a minute. As a shopping sexual wellness writer, I have tested sex toys of all shapes and sizes, from a snail-shaped dildo to a high-tech rabbit vibrator that provides biofeedback on your orgasms. Still, Dame’s minimalist vibrators have always struck me as some of the most gender-inclusive (who is this amorphous, vibrating bean for? Everyone!) and chic devices.

As Fine told Scouted, “Com is also one of our best-selling products, and for good reason. It’s simple, powerful, waterproof, and designed for full-body pleasure. It’s everything we want this campaign to be: fun, effective, and here to help people feel good.”
Dame will not only be rolling through big city streets this summer with Com, but making a point to pull up to high-visibility areas. As Fine says, “Think, high-traffic, high-energy spots like SMU Campus and Washington Square Park.” It’s a bold but hardly surprising move from the company, which made waves in 2019 when it went to court for the right to display its ads in the NYC subway, which approved ads for male erectile dysfunction, but somehow drew the line at Thinx period underwear, and Dame’s sexual wellness ads (which were punny, but far from explicit).
Now, as a Brooklyn-based brand, it’s only fitting that Dame should continue making noise in the streets of NYC in a way that feels approachable and fun. As Fine says, “Our goal remains simple: to keep spreading knowledge, joy, and maybe a few puns along the way. Because when people feel good in their bodies, they show up better in the world. When women know sex is supposed to feel good, they are less likely to settle for pain.”
