Maha Hilal

Maha Hilal is the founding Executive Director of the Muslim Counterpublics Lab, an organization that disrupts problematic narratives of Muslims that are deployed to justify state violence. She is an expert on institutionalized Islamophobia in the War on Terror and its impact on Muslims and Muslim Americans and is the author of the book, Innocent Until Proven Muslim: Islamophobia, the War on Terror, and the Muslim Experience Since 9/11.
