Girls Gone Wild Founder Sentenced

CS - Joe Francis
Damian Dovarganes / AP Photo

Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis was sentenced by a federal judge Friday to 301 days already served and a year of probation, after Francis pleaded guilty to filing false income-tax returns and bribing jail workers. Francis, who turned his simple idea of filming drunken ladies on spring break into a soft-core empire, was also ordered to pay the IRS $250,000 in restitution. The judge accepted Francis’ deal on the grounds that an important witness withheld information from prosecutors.

$250,000 IS chump change for Joe Francis--have you seen his private jet(s) and mansion(s)? But we needn't worry, he's hemorrhaging money every day paying lawyers to fight off all the other lawsuits against him. Serves the greasy bohunk right.

I agree the man is slimy.

Just saying that those sentences are not "chump change."

While in jail, he'll be filming his new video "Guys Gone Wild," where a wealthy white guy becomes the boy-toy of an angry, multi-racial, sex-starved prison population.

Don't spoil Vinny's rape fantasy--he's got to find some way to amuse himself.

I don't believe the witness fiasco. Rich guy walks, those that are less priviledged do all their time.

Now that we know that children's brains, including the parts that govern judgment and emotional maturity, are not developed until nearly the mid-20s, are we going to do anything to help these college girls in not making mistakes they will regret?

What IS the big deal here?
Guy's in his 20's and did what every 20 year old on the planet (including the middle east) dreams of doing... screwing every good looking girl he can and making loads of money. It was all legal, the girls were well within the purview of a 20 year old kid, including the teen agers. Any guy who says he didn't date teen agers when he was in his 20's and could, is either a liar or a retard. The girls all knew what they were doing.

And yes, some of them were naive, but that's not his fault.

This kid didn't do anything wrong but have a real good ol' time. The legal people going after him are hypocrites, greedy gold diggers, and morally worse than he is.

He's getting off cheap in this case, there will be others, and I hope he was smart enough to get clever council on how to hold onto some of his money. I wish him well.
